The Gulf of Valinco is another beautiful sight in Corsica surrounded by towering headlands and overlooked by the many Genoese towers are some of the best beaches on the island. Often termed 'The most Corsican of Corsican towns', Sartene rests dramatically on a rocky outcrop. With rambling alleys and lanes and cobbled streets it must one of the best-preserved towns on the island.
At the end of a long meandering road but well worth the journey is the small resort of Tizzano, with its sandy beach sand crystal clear waters, a beautiful area steeped in history.
