At the southern tip of the Island is a beautiful and popular area with those on holiday of horseshoe bays, white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. The beaches are only a short distance from the Ospedale massif, much enjoyed by walkers who come to enjoy the pine and oak forests and the lake. To the west, there is the Alta Rocca from which emerge the peaks of the Aiguilles de Bavella. These seven jagged peaks are a truly majestic sight.

The third largest town is Porto Vecchio, a chic cosmopolitan resort and arguably the number one tourist town. With the fortress of the old town and its designer boutiques and restaurants it is the 'Pearl of the South'. The sea-side towns of Palombaggia and Santa Giulia, are among the most beautiful in Corsica.

Bonifacio was founded in 833 and mentioned in Homer's Odyssey. It sits precariously on the cliff edge which overhangs the sea where the coastline is peppered with watery inlets and caves.

Solenzara a pretty little marina is a must to visit in the summer months. This area is great for canyoning, abseiling down waterfalls, rock climbing, hunting and fishing.
